And So It Continues

I don't know about you, but I heard a lot more stories about generosity this Christmas season than in years past. I think people have a greater appreciation for what they have, and a greater idea of those around them who have less - at least I'd like to think that.

My first thought when I woke up this morning was, OK... now what? Many people were given a special gift to help make their Christmas special, especially for the kids. But what about today? What about tomorrow? The same person who couldn't afford coats for their kids for yesterday may not be able to afford food today. The same person who wanted to bless their child with a toy to keep the magic of Christmas alive is the same person who can't supply their family with the basic necessities this week and next.

Just because Christmas is over, doesn't mean we can stop loving, stop giving, stop sharing, or stop caring. Keep your eyes, ears and hearts open and allow God to lead you to those in need.

Happy Christmas (Eve)

So this is Christmas Eve
And what's left to be done
Family's coming over
And the stockings are hung

And so this is Christmas Eve
I know we'll have fun
with the near and the dear ones
And carols to be sung.

Almost ready for Christmas
And then happy New Year
I'm ready to nap now.
But the family will be here.

So this is Christmas Eve
Have we forgotten anyone?
Oh... the one in the manger...
Have we left out the Son?

If it wasn't for Christmas
Jesus wouldn't be near
We'd still need a Savior
And all live in fear

But He came from heaven
and with his humble birth
God's plan was unfolding
to bring peace on earth

And so this is Christmas Eve
I hope you have fun
With near and the dear ones
the old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy new year
Let's make it a good one
'Cause Jesus is near
